Our office follows a schedule of routine physical exams that is generally accepted and recommended for the pediatric population.  Most newborns are seen within 48 hours of hospital discharge and again at approximately two weeks of age.  They then have exams at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months 18 months, 2 years, 2.5 years, and 3 years of age.  Some infants additionally require a 3 month visit at the discretion of your doctor.  After 3 years of age exams are continued annually through the teenage years until high school graduation.

 

Although you are welcome to see any physician in our practice, most families choose one physician to be their primary doctor.  We encourage you to call to schedule your appointments as early as possible so we may offer you a convenient time with your preferred physician.  At each visit you will have the opportunity to express your concerns and ask questions as well as have the doctor review many age-appropriate topics such as growth, developmental milestones, nutrition, and safety.  Vaccinations are administered at most well child exams through the age of 2 years.

 

Appointment reminders are sent two days in advance of all appointments.  Parents can opt to receive reminders via text, email, and/or voicemail within our patient messaging system.  

 

We ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time so that you may be registered by the front desk and screened by the nursing staff in a timely manner before you see the doctor.  We will do our best to accommodate late arriving patients but we reserve the right to reschedule those that would lead to significant delays in seeing our other regularly scheduled clients.
